There is a version of wedding photography that arrives with a shot list and works through it efficiently. The photographs look finished. They are also easy to forget.
The approach I use is different. I spend time with you before the day so I know your people, your pace, and the moments that matter to you specifically. On the day, I document what actually happens — the small gestures, the laughter between you and your best friend, your grandmother's face when you say your vows. I do not manufacture those moments. I show up prepared to find them.
The result is a complete picture of your day — not a selection of posed landmarks.
Why Charleston couples book early
Charleston has become one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the country, and for good reason. The light here is extraordinary — golden and warm through the oak canopies at Middleton Place, soft and diffused through plantation windows, dramatic along the Battery at dusk. The venues range from grand waterfront estates to intimate historic homes to open marshland at the edge of the Lowcountry.
I have photographed weddings across all of it. That local knowledge shapes every recommendation I make — from where to stand during the first look to which hour of light will make your portraits worth keeping for a lifetime.
How I work
Before booking, I want to understand your day — not just the logistics, but the tone, the people, and what you actually care about. That context shapes everything I do on the wedding day.
I visit venues in advance when possible. I review the timeline with your planner. I know where the light will be and where the quiet moments tend to live. That preparation means the day runs without drama.
I work in a way that fades into the background. Guests stop noticing I am there. That is exactly when the best photographs happen.
You receive a full gallery of edited images — enough to tell the entire story of your day — delivered within six weeks.
Coverage
Every wedding is different, so pricing reflects the specific coverage you need — not a package you fit yourself into. Most full-day Charleston weddings include 8–10 hours of coverage. Engagement sessions, second shooters, and additional coverage hours are available.

A few things couples usually ask
Do you travel outside Charleston?
Yes. I cover the full Lowcountry — Kiawah Island, Seabrook, Mount Pleasant, Beaufort, and surrounding areas. Destination travel is available for couples planning weddings elsewhere.
How far in advance should we reach out?
Saturdays in March through November book 10–14 months in advance. If your date is approaching, reach out — off-season Fridays and Sundays are often available on shorter timelines.
Do you photograph engagements?
Yes. Most couples who book wedding coverage also book an engagement session. It gives us time together before the wedding day so you are comfortable in front of the camera when it matters most.
What is your editing style?
Clean, timeless, and consistent — warm tones, honest color, no heavy presets. The photographs should look as good in twenty years as they do the week you receive them.
Do you work with a second shooter?
For weddings with more than 80 guests or two locations, I recommend adding a second photographer. I work with trusted colleagues who share the same standard and approach.
Still in the early stages?
If you are newly engaged and beginning to plan, I also photograph surprise proposals and engagement sessions across Charleston. Many of the couples I work with start there, then continue with wedding coverage once they experience how easy the process can be.
